In 2021 I was fortunate enough to be brought on to this six-part documentary series, The Anarchists, by my friend and DP Jake Swantko, to accompany him as a second Camera Operator.
Director Todd Schramke began filming this project six years prior after becoming fascinated with the Anarchist community growing in Acapulco, Mexico. With most of the story being told chronologically through Schramke’s years of footage, our job was to bring in the final touches, filming high-end interviews, scenics, and vérité scenes updating where the characters are now. In order to do so, we spent two months traveling with the team all throughout Mexico and the United States.
The Anarchists premiered on HBO Max in July 2022, and was a co-production of HBO Documentary Films and Blumhouse Television.
